Goal: To update wall graphics from another provider. In this upgrade, the facilities team wanted to add graphics that would provide a positive distraction for patients during routine procedures.

Challenge: Beacon Pediatric Multi-Specialties already had an existing space with a dog theme. Their old room signage was dogs, printed on vinyl that were peeling off and appearing aged. The wall had wall coverings with holes from equipment the facility no longer used. There also was a long hallway that required décor, which would be a costly project if the facility added multiple pieces of artwork.

Result/Solution: Instead of using vinyl for the dog room signs, the images were printed on Sintra. The Sintra signs allowed us to update the dog room signs and elevate the look of the wall. The long hallway needed artwork, but they did not want to spend a lot of money and the hallway was long. We created a “wave” dog graphic to take up space, add a positive distraction, and keep costs down (compared to multiple pieces of artwork along the corridor). Having the different heights of the vinyl also allowed the artwork to be at a child’s eye level as they walk down the hall. The “wave” of the vinyl also promotes movement as the nurses keep the kids moving down the hall.
