Memorial 9 South Acoustical Artwork
The Challenge
Sarah Paturalski had the idea to make the art “sound absorbing”, also known as acoustical artwork, to help with the noise levels on the Memorial 9 South unit which had been a consistent problem for employees and patients. Designed for maximum sound absorption, our custom-printed panels maintain a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) rating of .90, meaning 90% of the sound is absorbed by the panel over all frequencies the human ear can hear.
The Process
Kate Wilhelm worked with the Memorial 9 South staff to submit favorite scenic images with the idea that several of them would be made into art for the corridors on the unit. Over 80 photos were submitted via a bulletin board on the unit and the staff “voted” for their favorites (see photo below). Kate sent Olee Creative the image “favorites” and we checked them for resolution and clarity.

The Result
Olee Creative worked to group the acoustical artwork together in pleasing and colorful arrangements for six different areas of the unit. The staff was extremely excited to see their art on display after the installation was complete. Olee Creative’s acoustical artwork is a great way for architects and interior designers to add add functional and visual aesthetic appeal to their projects. This impressive art display allows the designer’s creativity to shine while creating a comfortable and memorable space. Learn More
